Swim Lessons

The week we came home from the beach in June, both girls had swim lessons. Every summer I haven't wanted Grace to take them and I finally got them in. The teacher was, Kathryn, a girl I use to teach with. She did a great job.
Grace had just learned to swim on her own the week before so she really took to the lessons. She was in a group of five...all around the same age and same swim levels. Grace learned techniques and pride in swimming. By the second day she was swimming from one end of the pool to the other all by herself. By the end of the week she was really showing out. They had a race...and she won! Then they had a trading water contest...and she won! Love this girls dedication to learning new things.
Olivia did well the first two days. Kathryn would hold on to her and Olivia would put her face in the water and kick her feet and use her arms. By mid week I ask for Olivia to be pushed a little further. When Kathryn let go of Olivia to swim, Olivia lost her confidence. And the last few days of swim lessons were spent crying. Olivia cried every time it was her turn and would try to hold onto Kathryn's arms so she wouldn't be let go. As soon as the lessons was over Olivia was happy as could be, she'd put her floaties back on and go swimming.
I am glad I put them both in.

Harper and I hung out in the shade watching.
