iServe

Labor day weekend at our church, Graystone Church, canceled regular Sunday services. Instead of going to church we became the church. Attenders met at the church then went out into the community to serve. The best part of the day was serving with Grace. And the double blessing was being able to serve at Grace's elementary school. Grace was eager to get to work and did a good job pulling weeds. She also took a turn in raking and painting.

A little more...

I have been heart broken this week. A family that goes to the same preschool as my girls, lost their 14 month old. A sweet baby girl right around the same age as Harper. It was a very tragic accident, a car backed into the stroller she was riding in. I can't imagine what the family nor that mother is going through. So this week my children have had a little more of my attention and hugs then they normally do. You never know the plan God has for you or your family.

One night at 10:00 I just went and pulled Harper out of bed. And held her for a very long time.

And tonight I went and got the girls yummy treats...just because. Even Harper got her first big sugar cookie.

Olivia's first day of school

Olivia started school on August 24th. (I know, I know...little behind on the blog). She was so excited about school and had been asking to go every since Grace had started. The morning of she got dressed quickly and loved showing off her new outfit. On the car ride over she kept telling me "mommy, I'm excited". But as soon as we pulled into the parking lot the car got silent. She walked to her classroom hanging on to daddy's hand. The teacher's greeted her but their was no response just a shy smile. I found her an puzzle to do at the table then we gave quick hugs and kisses and hurried out of the room. She was smiling as we left and smiling as I came to pick up. After school I took Olivia and Aidan to Bruster's to celebrate a new school year!

Olivia meets her teachers

On August 24th we went to meet Olivia's teachers for this school year. She will be attending another year at Grayson United Methodist Church in the 3 day 3 year old room. She has some amazing teachers, Ms. Joni and Ms. Tinna. They were both Grace's two years ago and Ms. Joni has become a dear friend to us.
Olivia was very excited about going but got quiet by the time we got there. By the time we left she had warmed up and was talking.

The joys of being the little one

Harper is SO the little sister. Grace treats her like a baby doll 90% of the time. I thought she would be less interested in her as she got older and got more of a personality but for some reason it just makes Grace gravitate to her more.
In these pictures Harper was put into a big lego box and pushed around. When she started getting restless to get out Grace put her highchair tray on to keep her happy.
Eventually she had had enough!

Olivia writes...

Olivia so want to be a big girl. In August she started trying to write her own name. She is getting better and better by the day.
