Hilton Head Island ~ 2010

We went to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for our fifth year in a row. I love this place! We only went for half a week this year but it was great to get away, spend time with family and watch the girls explore the water. We stayed in an hotel this year so we spent a lot of time outside and going out to eat at night. The girls did AWESOME and loved everything. They were really easy this year and were so much fun to watch. They were good at restaurants, played hard during the day and slept together on a sofa bed at night. Grace was fearless this year. No fear of the ocean or the waves. She continuously asked to go play in the waves. She wasn't scared to go out on her own and would even sit and let waves crash over her. Olivia was scared of the enormous body of water the first day...she didn't want anybody to put her down. By day three she was running into the ocean all by herself. They both loved playing in the sand. In fact we called Olivia the sand monster because she rolled in the sand, covered herself in sand, etc. But hands down they LOVED the pool. Olivia would get in the pool and not come out for at least an hour. She didn't want anybody to touch her...she would just float around on her back or tummy. Grace could touch the bottom of the pool so she became very brave. She wore no water wings, jumped in off the side of the pool and would put her head under the water. Another great vacation. Grace and Olivia were so tired after swimming all day. Gracie had red eyes from swimming and being tired.

One evening they both feel asleep getting ready for dinner (as Chad watched the USA soccer game). In fact, we dried Olivia's hair, finished dressing her, took her in the car and during the first half of dinner she slept!

My girls loved, loved, loved the pool. The water was really warm because of the hot weather so it wasn't real refreshing but the girls did not mind.

Grace would hold her nose before jumping into the pool but as soon as her feet hit the water she would let go of her nose. So cute and funny.
