Grace turned six Jan. 26. (I little behind on the blog) She continues to grow into a beautiful little girl inside and out. She loves kindergarten and all the independence that has come along with it...going to the school store, buying ice cream on Fridays, homework, new friends, riding the bus, etc. The teacher has voiced that is likes being a helper. She likes to help the teacher and other peers that may being having trouble. She has made some sweet friends in her class but doesn't talk about them very often. When we ask Grace her favorite part of the day she almost always answers...going outside. Grace loves playing outside and is quit athletic. She has been pretty good at anything she tries, soccer, cheerleading jumps, running, riding her bike, etc. We have finished her first season of cheerleading and she did very well and took it very seriously. But has told us that she is very excited about soccer starting back. Grace has starting reading in the last few months and it has thrilled us to hear her. She has been eager to learn and begs to practice sight words. I have found her reading to Harper and it just so sweet. Grace loves to draw pictures, make people cards, write stories, etc. She has gone through lots of paper and crayons in our house. She loves to play school and house, but of course she usually plays the role of teacher and mom. Grace displays great leadership skills which we joke will be a great quality when she is older but doesn't make the best quality as a friend. Grace is a little sassy to me but more then anything she is trying to figure out her role between child/parent. For example when asked to do something she doesn't understand why she needs to obey right away and can give lots of excuses why she doesn't need to obey at all. But she can be a big "people pleaser". So when praising and making an experience positive she thrives to try even harder. Grace hasn't the biggest heart and loves to bring joy to others. She won't leave the house without hugging and kissing everyone. Grace loves going to church and is like a little sponge. She comes home from church each Sunday telling us new stories and reciting new bible verses. She is a picky eater. Loves must fruit and sandwiches but does not eat veggies and refuses to try new things. Her favorite thing is chocolate...straight up chocolate bars. We love spending time with this girl. She is a joy to be with.
