Family Fun Night

We decided to spend a fun night together before Chad went out of town. Chad doesn't travel a whole bunch but more then he did with his previous jobs. This was probably the longest he has been gone...or maybe the longest to a very pregnant mommy, chasing around two little girls in the heat, while one is still healing from surgery.

But back to family time...we went to Stone Mountain Park to see the laser show. We had a great time. We decided not to get there until 8pm b/c the heat in Georgia right now is HOT! It was perfect time for us to play a little, walk around a little and then watch the show.

The girls did great with the show expect neither one of them liked the fire works. They always seem to puzzle me because they have never had problems with fireworks before. Olivia closed her eyes every time and tell me they were too loud. And Grace absolutely hated them! Holding her ears and crying about them. The only thing I could figure is they ENT told us her ears may be sensitive after her surgery??? Or maybe it's just another phase???

I didn't think about bringing any toys to play with. Grace wanted a ball or frisbee to play with and mom had nothing to offer. So she found Chad's shoe and played frisbee with it. It cracked me up. The family sitting beside us felt bad for us and brought us a soccer play to play with.
Olivia played fetch with the flip flop...Chad would throw it about 30 feet away and she would run go get, bring it back to Chad and tell him again.

Would ever happened to the cheap glow in the dark necklaces??? Now they have wands, bubble guns, etc. The girls both wanted the bubble wands. They had a lot of fun with them.

We have a date!

We planned the date for my scheduled c-section. 8-9-10! This is just seven and a half weeks away! I am getting pretty excited about having a newborn in the house but I'm having a hard time imagining what it will be like to add to the mix of Grace and Olivia. I love the date 8-9-10 but have a weird feeling she may just make an early appearance.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 31 weeks

Size of baby: 4lbs 4 oz (measuring two weeks big)
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Has lost weight this pregnancy

Maternity Clothes: Getting toward the end...I feel like I am wearing the same thing over and over again.
Gender: It's a girl!!!!!!!
Movement: She kicks a lot after I eat and when she hears the girls
Food Cravings: Peanut butter and milk

What I miss: Sleeping on my tummy. Being able to bend over easily.

Sleep: I still get good sleep at night but I do wake up several times to go to the bathroom.

Symptoms: Fatigue, frequent trips to the bathroom, tummy growing, moodiness

Best Moment this week: The girls talking about Harper. Buying new clothes, getting baby gear out of the attic!

What I am looking forward to: Having this baby!!!

That's My Man

Chad works hard! He is a good salesman, a great father and an awesome landscaper. The sign in our front yard is a little proof. I am so proud of my husband!

Tonsils and Adenoids are GONE

Last Monday, June 7th, Grace had her tonsils and adenoids removed. We made our first trip to the ENT office on April 1st to talk about the size of her adenoids and tonsils and the affect they were having on her sleep and the sickness she had had just in the last nine months. Grace has never been my sick child. In fact, I think she had only had two ear infections before the age of three. But starting last summer she had had two ear infections, several sinus infections, bronchitis and tonsillitis. She had also been snoring louder then must grown men! After looking at the size of her tonsils we decided to take them out, hoping this will clear up most of her problems.

Grace knew she was going to have surgery and was very brave about it all. It was also the innocents of a child to not really know what was about to happen to her. The morning of the surgery she was shy with nurses and hyper with mommy. I guess that shows her nervous habits. She told Chad and I several times she was NOT going to go to sleep. We told her she could try but we were pretty sure the medicine would win that battle. Only one parent could go back with her so I chose to go. Sure enough she refused to lay down for the mask but would breath it in sitting up. All the nurses were laughing at her determination of not falling asleep.

The surgery only lasted thirty minutes and the doctor told us that is went very well. He also said her tonsils were huge...the size of adults, kissing each other in her throat.

We had to wait another 45 minutes to go see her in recovery. She came out of anesthesia well. We heard a lot of other children crying but she was GREAT...no tears at all. She ate half a popsicle, fell back asleep and then we were on our way home.

Recovery has been good but has seemed slow to a mama stuck in her house. Gracie was sick the first day from the anesthesia. She has not eaten much in the last week but has been good about drinking fluids. I thought we would be eating lots of popsicles and ice cream but she has not been interested. When she has eaten she has had chicken and hotdogs...weird right?!?! Grace has been watching lots of movies, made lots of crafts and been held a lot. She has not taken many naps but has slept good at night. She is still on codeine a week later and it has made her very emotional. I hope to move her to Tylenol tomorrow.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend at Maw Maw and Paw Paw's this weekend. It was a blast to get away from things for a few days and enjoy family. It was also a treat to have Chad's parents with us for two days. It is so nice to have them in Georgia now.

Love watching these two together. They really do love each other. They have their sibling moments but the hugs they give each other are just magical to see.

When asked what their favorite part of the weekend was the answers were grandparents and swimming. We spent hours in the pool and loved every minute of it.

Olivia at 2 1/4 years old

This girl has changed so much in the last three months. She is on FIRE about everything. If she is happy, sad or mad, everybody will know it. She is very opinionated and will let you know what she likes or wants. She has become Ms. Independent wanting to do it ALL by herself like the big kids. The TWO's have hit her hard! She can made me angry and laugh all at the same time. Olivia is sassy and points fingers as she tells you what to do. So not appropriate but funny at the same time. She doesn't seem as easy as Grace...for example when we put Grace in her bed she does not get out. Olivia gets out several times!!! And each time she has some excuse on why she is up. We talks up a storm and there is not much we don't understand now. She makes me laugh all the time. She loves to do booty dances just to make people laugh. She still loves to sing and even if she doesn't know the words she lip sings like she does. Livie LOVES to be outside and has almost figured out how to pedal the trike. She is determined to do it and tries everyday. She is a complete love and wants to be as close as she can to you to give hugs and kisses. Defiantly a loud ray of sunshine in our house.

Last Day of PreK 3

Today was a bittersweet day. I love that today was the last day of schedules, baths on certain nights, going to bed at a decent hour, making lunches, etc. But Grace had a great year and we just LOVED her teachers. They will truly be missed next year. Today we celebrated the end of PreK 3 with a carnival and pizza party. Grace had a great day and I think she is a little excited about summer.
